A project aimed at supporting school mental health from within
Pillar Consulting Group aims to support student mental health. Our 3 co-founders came together to combine their individual expertise in clinical mental health, substance use, and K-12 education systems to tackle student mental health from every side.
A one-size-fits-all approach does not work for school mental health because each school is a unique system. At Pillar Consulting Group, we apply the same rigorous, evidence-based framework used in medicine — diagnose, recommend, treat — to support the mental health and wellbeing of every student within the specific school community.
We partner with schools to support their entire system, from the administration, policy, workforce, and students. Pillar Consulting Group spans the 3 tier system of universal, targeted, and intensive levels of in-school support, ensuring every student is reached, from whole-school wellbeing initiatives to individualized clinical intervention.

Randi Schuster, PhD
Psychologist, Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School, and Director of the Massachusetts General Hospital Center for School Behavioral Health, she is a national leader in school mental health and large-scale program development. She developed a substance use prevention program that has been deployed in over 300 schools.

David Weinberg
Former school principal, classroom teacher, and assistant superintendent, he now consults with schools across the country to improve the educational system. He also provides personalized coaching to school administrators.

Co-FounderNicole DeTore, PhD
Psychologist, Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School, and Associate Director the Massachusetts General Hospital Center for School Behavioral Health, she specializes in early interventions to prevent mental illnesses and currently provides mental health interventions in high schools. She also teaching undergraduates at Tufts University.
ConsultantTyree Alexander
Educational consultant and school leadership coach who uses data to inform school-based strategy. He spent over ten years teaching in New York City schools.
